Adopted after Granny passed, he’s grown from a cheeky pup into a more settled companion. He loves challenging his 80kg neighbour dog and has a soft spot for sweet treats like cheese scones and Subway - though he’s always happy to share!

🕰️ Welly’s Time Machine – When Parliament met in Wellington for the first time
On 26 July 1865, 160 years ago this weekend (when the population of Wellington was just 4,900), the New Zealand Parliament officially sat in Wellington for the very first time, marking our city's debut as the nation's capital. The move from Auckland wasn't without drama - politicians were still arguing over whether Cook Strait was too rough for regular travel, but Wellington's central location and "harbour big enough for the entire Royal Navy" won the day.
