Kia ora Wellington, happy spring! 🌼 The days are (finally) getting longer – don’t forget clocks spring forward on Sunday morning. If you needed an excuse for an extra coffee, losing an hour’s sleep is it! This weekend our city will be humming: A new night market lights up Lower Hutt, Porirua’s in chocolate heaven, Monster Trucks arrive at Sky Stadium, and a Japanese film festival kicks off in Miramar.

On September 26, 1907, Wellington was at the heart of a moment that changed New Zealand forever. Prime Minister Joseph Ward stood on the steps of the General Assembly Library and declared our nation a dominion. It was a big step away from the colonial past, and the start of New Zealand charting its own course.
