๐ฐ๏ธ Time Machine: Lyall Bay โ Then & Now ๐
Overlooking Lyall Bay from Melrose, this stunning then-and-now comparison takes us from the windswept hills of 1895 to the bustling seaside suburb of 2020. In the black-and-white snapshot, three finely dressed folks stand gazing over untouched coastline โ no airport, no surf club, no queue at Spruce Goose.
Fast forward a century or so and itโs all go โ surfers, school runs, strong southerlies, and some of the cityโs best sea views. While rooftops and roads have filled the valley, the coastlineโs iconic curve and distant hills still anchor Lyall Bay firmly in Wellingtonโs heart.
